Do You Wonder How Good of a Steward That Your Favorite Evangelical Charity Is?

The Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) is devoted to providing the public with an objective analysis of how member organizations adhere to specified measurements of stewardship.

Georgia Home Education Association

We have been homeschooling our children for ten years.  If you have an interest, check out the Georgia Home Education Association, the ultimate resource for Georgia citizens seeking to have a Christian homeschool.

They have articles and even a page devoted to colleges that some have found to be friendly towards homeschoolers.

Sometimes a homeschool parent can feel overwhelmed and could use encouragment or a new idea. This page links the the support groups for Gwinnett County. Here’s the Walton County support groups.  And the one for Barrow County.  And Jackson County.  And Hall County.  You can search for any county in Georgia too.

How Do You Find a Gas That Is Odorless and Tasteless?

If you have never thought about getting a Carbon Monoxide Detector to catch the “Silent Killer”, you may want to consider one, especially with winter coming on.  I bought some of the more sensitive detectors years ago that are much bigger than some of the newer models.  There could be some competitors to this one.  I just looked around a little on the web.  At least this one could fit on your key ring.

I do not endorse, have any stake, or have family with any stake in this company selling these detectors or the manufacturer.

State Parks and Historic Sites

Georgia is full of picturesque parks and historic sites.  Some of these might be of interest to you or your family.  Just click on the name of the site and you will be taken to the page for that particular place.  These web pages are well done and full of useful information.  Here’s Fort Yargo’s site, the closest to Gwinnett County.  Hard Labor Creek is not too far away either.

The state has even included a page of Georgia Performance Standards curriculum on Excel spreadsheets for touring each site.  You have to go to this page first.  Here’s more educational resources for making the most out of the sites.

It keeps getting better.  Here is the Events Calendar for the Parks and Sites.

Best of lists of attractions, restaurants, events, hotels, and other categories for Atlanta

Somehow I came across this website and poked around looking at the different lists for Atlanta and Savannah.  It is packed with information and would be useful if you are trying to find something fun to do for the day or plan a vacation or weekend trip.

This is a Southern Living article from 2006.  It might give you some ideas of fun stuff to do without leaving the Southeast.
